First created in 2009, The Furry Thing is an artistic project of the artist and designer from Kuala Lumpur, Kamwei Fong. A meticulous illustrated atlas of cats of all kinds and sizes, the original drawings of which can now be found in the galleries of France, Taiwan and United States. The Furry Thing is also an Instagram page (@kamweiatwork) and has almost over two hundred thousand followers.
By using only black micro pigment ink and very dense yet tiny strokes, Fong has created hundreds of dreamlike and imaginative illustrations of cats.
Although his style is unvarying, almost mathematically designed and executed, each cat of The Furry Thing shows their own unique personality. Some cats are scruffy, chubby and clumsy. Others are curvy, elegant and proud.

Utilizzando solo inchiostro nero a micro pigmenti e delle fitte trame di piccoli, brevi segni, Fong ha creato centinaia di illustrazioni oniriche e fantasiose di gatti.
Nonostante lo stile uniforme, quasi matematico nella sua progettazione e lavorazione, ogni gatto di The Furry Thing mostra una personalità unica: ci sono i gatti arruffati, panciuti e goffi, ci sono gatti sinuosi, eleganti e fieri, altri ancora hanno occhi curiosi, o diffidenti, o ruffiani.
